Fast finish games

Aeson, the civ3 HoF mod, has said that the rules for a fast finish game are the same as the rules for a "straight" HoF game, except for the number of rivals. For a fast finish game you need the maximum number of rivals, so 3 AI on tiny, 5 AI on small, 7 AI on standard, 11 AI on large and 15 AI on huge maps...

The rules for fastest finish games haven't been set as of yet. As Darkness said, it will require a static number of AI per given map size.

One thing to bear in mind with fastest finish games (spaceship/diplomatic especially) is that the opponents you are playing with will sometimes dramatically change the tech pace for PtW games. I think it will be allowable to pick the AI's you are competing against.

I am also leaning towards not having a diplomatic fastest finish category, as it is pretty much duplicate of what spaceship games have to offer.

The rules will be set with the announcement of the opening of fastest finish submissions within the next couple months, so feel free to input your opinions on just what those should be.

On a related note, a lot of the additions to the HOF are on hold waiting for the Conquests release and to see how that will affect how the HOF needs to be formatted. Not to mention giving me more time at the beach and to work on some home improvement projects. :)

...........I'm so excited about being able to go for a fast Finish, I can't even think what kind of major Rule changes we'd need, if any...........other than setting the number of AI rivals. :)

AND, that's coming from an old "Dairy Farmer"!

Presumably we'd have a tie-breaker in the event that 2 players finish in the same year...........like highest Firaxis score?

But my understanding is that the person who finishes first, WINS!......Nice & Simple. :goodjob:

Would be interesting to hear others players' ideas now that Aeson has given us an Open Invitation to comment.
