Fast Food (Horrible Title...)

8 FP, 3 Crab, 2 Fish, 1 Wheat

And a finacial leader. Day-yum.

In all but one of my BTS games, I've had some pretty darn good starting locations. The one I posted here is just the best one I've had so far, food wise anyways. Portuguese UB will come in handy here, too.

Only thing I'm not liking in this game so far is it has the the Khmer and their leader (Survayaman? I can't keep his name in my head :P) and in my other game with him he was terrible to deal with. A back stabbing, wonder building, military machine. Bleh.

I usually regenerate if my capital doesnt have at least 3 production tiles and one food tile ( I really like 3 food and 4 production tiles ) . Its probably gonna take ages to build moai there.

My starts on average aren't usually all that great. I am lucky if I get 2 food resources and one other in my BFC. Usually I end up with just one cow or pig or something like that and that is it. My only saving grace is that I usually have tons of forests[like every tile].

Those are some pretty excellent starts!

I've noticed my start locations seem to have a lot less food resources and a lot more forests than Warlords.

echo.

Those are some nice starts and earlier in the thread folks were mentioing the food heavy starts, however, I haven't been getting them. If coastal, yes, the food is there. But any inland start and I am usually looking at one food resource, a pair of production or luxury resources, and 16 forested tiles. I prefer to run a SE but haven't been able to because food is not available on the maps (monarch, normal, hemispheres/continents/big and small)

Worker first? Wouldn't you go work boat first?

Man... that start is that too much! Work boat build first, Mining----> Bronze Working, worker at pop 3, Settler to bronze, cottage, whip axemen, Run two scientists for early academy, and on!

Finally got myself a start with lost of food :D. I just wish the fish was also starting in it :/.

Most of my BtS starts have been way better than vanilla and warlords starts...

And, usually, those starts end up being even better later on, due to uncovered resources from techs and random events that increase the :hammers:/ :food: /:commerce: of a given tile... which I seem to get a lot, not that I'm complaining or anything. :goodjob:

The attached thumbnail is a late-game (really late) shot of one of my best BtS starts. Two clams, pigs, silver, uranium, bronze, and silk. I was playing as the Dutch in that game... hence the 2 hammers per coastal tile. Maoi Statues + Dike = :woohoo:

Although the Dutch are fast becoming my #1 civ... I'm trying to resist playing as him... so financial doesn't become a crutch for me.
