Fat Cross

Hello Everyone! This is my first post although I have lurked since I got the game. In Many of the posts, Players refer to a "fat cross". I'm rather New to the game, and was wondering if someone could tell me exactly what that is.

It's the city radius after 1 culture expansion, which is the tiles you can work for a city.
