I also sometimes like to use the Americans and the French, also the Aztecs because they have lots of city names, I hate using those dumb extra city names!

I added some names to the Chinese to temporarily fix this problem..

I prefer to play the yellow civs, the Aztecs in particular. Sometimes the Persians are a fave. Generally, anything other than the dark blue civs - they don't show up well on the little world map and they make for better AI opponents. Most of my games are with custom civs, tho.

I'll have to agree there, so are the Sioux, but I dont usually have probs with the Indians (All three brown civs)....White are a problem (Celts, Romans, Russians)

They are very aggressive and have large armies early on that can hurt your nice civ if you are unprepared.

We founded all the cities in America with a bit of Spanish and French help; the Americans are just British rebels. Any Brits out there- hope u agree; any Americans- sorry.

Thanks Ren, I won't say anything about Australia then. I agree about the avatar point, BTW, although I'd only just joined when you changed it Dell, so I can't really remember it, although I can remember it being good. Any American nationalists look away now, because here comes the right wing British stuff. The Americans shouldn't really be a civilisation on Civ2. Im not denying that they're a legitimate country now, but they founded pretty much none of their cities, apart from Washington. The Americans are one of those rebel civs that pop up when someone takes your capital, except they went on to take this and that from Spain and buy some bits of France. If the Americans weren't included, the English (British in Civ3), French and Spanish city lists could be greatly expanded. After all, those cities were founded by us. Also cities in Australia, South America, South Africa, the Caribbean et cetera should also be included. Just athought. Anyway, you can't have a go at me- I'm only 13! LOL He He

They tend to start of with horses, which are great. Plus I dislike the other two purple civs, so this means I never have to see them. An added benefit is since I generally top the powergraph, I am my own key-civ, so no research penalty or tech-gifting required!
