Which civ do you like the best from PTW and why? I personally like the Vikings thanks to the awesome UU which takes the place of a useless unit (longbow).

I haven't even played the game yet but I like the Vikings traits and the berserker. I'll be able to play for the first time tomorrow night.

I'm especialy fond of the Arabs, but that's probably because of my heritage.

And oh yeah, i like the ottomans and the vikings because the sipahi's can run over andy unit before infantry and berserks are awesome even in groups of 5 or 6 (as long as you have pikemen or musketmen guarding them)

I must admit that I haven't had much time to play a lot of PTW since I got it last week, but in the time that I have been able to play, I have decided that I like the Carthaginians VERY MUCH! That Numidian Mercenary is an excellent (no, outstanding) unit in the Ancient Age (and more than respectfully even into the middle part of the Middle Ages).
But I think in the next game I will have to try out the Vikings and see just how awesome that Berserk unit is.

I know that it will change over time as I play more games with more civs but for now my favorite civ is the Arabs. My biggest turn off in early warfare is how long it takes to move forces thru enemy territory, and the early 3-moving ansar are the answer to this problem. Expansionist not a liability when coupled with time saving religious trait. Nice color too.

This is a toughy. Ive so far played as the Spanish, Celts, and Ottomans, and enjoyed the Ottomans the most. The Sipahi is just fantastic. I got so sick of seeing armys and armys of Cavalry everywhere, and the Sipahi`s just look so damn cool.
The Celts were great as well, i love theyre UU the Gallic Swordsman.

I've played Celts and Arabs so far and I find myself doing much better with Arabs. I've yet to try the other new civs so my opinion might change later...

You gotta love Carthage. When I first started playing I played with the French, because I loved those traits, but after awhile I started to realize how much the musketeer sucked. Plus, it's the French. C'mon! 
But now I can play as the Carthagians w/o fear of being jumped by all the other human players all at once.

I voted for the Ottomans. This is not really meaningful as I just got the game on Wednesday, and have only started one game. However, I've been to Turkey twice, and I really enjoyed it. The people were very friendly to Americans, and I hope they can get in the EC.
The Vikings totally kick *ss! How can the Berserks not be useful?

Celts for me. Because I played a game with Spain, but had trouble most of the game. Then try out other countries, like Arabs and Turkey, but couldn't get into the current save. So I tryed Celts and now taking over the world. Even so I don't have faster workers, the ability to quickly end a number of civilization when they have little power with a GS is nice.

Just got done reading all about them though here and at civ3.com. The Vikings are looking nice, I can see making good use of the UU for a few ages. Carthiginians are looking really nice, I'll be playing them first. Industrious and commercial are a few of my favorite traits (I love industrial civs). The UU looks very impressive. They got my vote, for now.

But seriously, their traits arent all that great (military/expand) and their keshiks dont seem that good. Sure they can ignore mountain costs, but they only have two movement and how many times will you see a long mountain range? AND they have a lower defense. And not having iron isnt all that common.
The rest all seem pretty good, but it sure sounds like everyone likes scandinavia
