American football! Although lacrosse is a tough, intense sport too. So is rugby (much more brutal than American football, but I don't get a chance to watch it here).

Favorite one that I participate in? Bow hunting....

Football/Soccer all the way baby :D

Go american style football! Although soon enough it is going to be the football. the european NFL league is going to make those silly europeans change what they call football to soccer:D

Fußball? Mind you, but isn't ß a german mark of 1½ s -letters? Then it is Fussball! :p
But, I just love finnish baseball and soccer. Hockey too, but not so much.

The close runners up are cricket and foxhunting;) , but the only real answer I can give is AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL, the only true sport!

Kevin, how can you make a poll like this and not include Golf or Swimming but stuff like Hockey and rugby????

Swimming is like the ultimate sport, it trains all your muscles and soprts injuries are rather rare - And Golf, the sport of the society's top people or wannabes........

:sniper:

I voted for the best sport ever! Soccer[punch]

By the way Duck of Flanders, if Belgians rule on the bike, then how come they keep letting an American win the Tour de France? Is it just there generous nature?:D

First of all ,the tour de france is not the only cycling event ,although it's the most prestigious.Belgian's (flemmish) have won a lot of classic's ,like Paris-Roubaix ,the Tour de Flandres ,Luik Bastenaken Luik,...
Belgium is 3rth in the uci nation ranking ,after spain and Italy, very good for such a small country as Belgium (flandres) .(way before france and the U.S.)
armstrong may be the strongest cycler of the moment ,he's almost the only American in the tour.Belgium (flandres) has a lot of fine cyclers ,so whe are stronger at the base.
The man that won the tour most and also won most course's in his career was a (flemmish) Belgian. (Eddy Mercx)
Most records of the tour de France (and other numerous cycling-event's) are on names of Belgian's (flemmish) too.
A lot of team's (especially the best) are led by belgian's(flemmish) Like U.S Postal ,Deutche Telecom ,Mapei.
That's so far for cycling on the road, in field cycling whe are absolutly the best. This years world championship a belgian (flemmish) won ,and the second ,fourth ,fifth and six'ed where all Belgian's (flemmish) too.

Givvin how small belgium (and flandres) really is, we are absolutly very good in cycling.Like Holland ,another small country that is very good at cycling for it's size.In general Holland has a lot more fine cyclers than America ,and a far better cycling history.

Sorry for the long post ,But in cycling we flemmisch are very nationalistic.I put in the Flemmisch comment's because all our cyclers (and once great cyclers) are flemmish.

B.t.w. If it wasn't for Johan Bruyneel (flemish) ,lance Armstrong probably wouldn have won the tour last years .Bruyneel was the only one to believe that armstrong still could be a professional cycler after his cancer. The peddling Technique of armstrong is an invention of bruyneel too.

I voted for American Football. Go Steelers! I also really like the game of fossball but when I have played it it has involved a hitting a corkball on a table with 3 different poles going across it that have 2, 5, and 3 "men".

...is it supposed to be 'to play' or 'to watch'?

No doubt. Alpine Skiing... There's nothing that comes close to beating those red pists. It is the feeling of constantly being on "the edge", with all your senses, body and mind working together to "read" the snow, with the occasional unforeseen challenges... Nothing comes close.

I rarely watch sports, if only the occasional national soccer game...
