Favourite variant?

No War on a huge map. Its pretty hard to go through an entire game withut having any wars with any civ, but i have done it. Im not sure whether i should thinkof it as a win though because although i acheived my goal, the babylonians had a domination win.

the secret to that is to settle in the culture gaps when others go to war.

on topic ... probably AW, though ive also played domination victory with only defensive wars.

I love AW. My "heroes" are the GOMOAW. I really love all the leaders, and when you win, it really reminds you of how dumb the AI is. Even 7 cheating opponents can't beat me when all allied against me.

I don't play variant except on rare occasions but my style is almost always war war war.

5CC. I play a lot of game with this variant. I win it up to deity C3C. I really like those colonies, making the infrastructure I like with railroad/forest, destroying mine/irrigation/road everywhere, to force an attacking AI to come in particular tiles without forrest/RR for crushing them, surrounding by RR mountain (it's over at this stage), making some place behind those "choke RR point" full RR for garrison units ..etc
Needless to say you have only 5X20 tiles to work for your cities
