Okay, I'm having a bit of a problem using the Fax Console that comes with Win XP.

Let's say I create a document in MS Word to be faxed, I then go to "Print File" then choose the Fax (which is a fax/modem) instead of the printer. I then click "ok" and up comes the Fax Wizard. The Wizard asks me who I want to send it to, the number, if I want a cover page, etc. I click "next" a few times and finally send the fax. The fax is sent successfully, however let's say that the recipient does not use a computer to receive the fax, but receives faxes through a fax machine.

My problem is that when the fax prints out on a fax machine, the fax is resized and comes out smaller than it actually should be. Now, I have not selected any resizing options, it should not be scaling any smaller than the original size, but it does.

I know that if a computer receives it, they can resize it to full size, but what can I do so that when a machine receives it, they do not come out any smaller? I have browsed through the troubleshooters and Microsoft's website, but found nothing related to this issue. Can anyone help?

Wow, a fax program in XP - I didn't know. Now, maybe, there is a reason to have a modem! Where is this program located - I wil take a look at it and see if there is an option that maybe you missed....

Well, what you need to do is install your fax/modem and then go to the printers and faxes option in the control panel. Look on the left side of the panel and you will see an option that reads "Set Up Faxing" and that should install the options for you.

Well, I sent a few test faxes to a manual fax machine at the office and they came out just fine. I suppose it's just that one recipient who had screwy settings on his fax machine, because as far as I can tell, it works fine.

Question withdrawn.
