feature request - unit tagging / rank stripes on unit icons?

I wish there was some way I could put a tag, custom name, a star, something to make a unit look unique from the main map. Too many times I have lost my most veteran and promoted units to stupidity bc they all look the same.

Is such a feat even doable? Even cooler would be rank stripes above or part of each unit icon.

Yeah I know there are the promotion icon on the unit detail window but I want to see something from the normal map view.

You can enable promotion icons on unit flag, Menu->Options->Interface (or Graphic, not sure) Options->Flag Promotions

Yes you can re-name units, right click on the name, warrior in this picture and type in whatever you want, it cant be very long.
I do this on a regular basis, mainly naming siege nr1 nr2 etc to make sure I use the highest exp ones to get +range.

Awesome! I'll totally try these the next time I fire up! Maybe not as good as a big gold star or something, but hopefully something I can pay attention to.

Not sure what the standard style will be for mod distribution, since Modbuddy lets us put them out in the world unannounced and undiscussed, but I figure a thread for feedback is always better

In User Interface-Other you will find my Mod "FlagPromotions"

This is a fairly simple little modcomp which lets the promotions on a unit be seen along with the unit model on the map itself. I personally found it annoying in a large battle to have to remember which units were my veterans and which were the cannon fodder, or which Archer could shoot over a mountain and which had...
