Feature transfer error

Moving civ 4 from a laptop to a desktop pc and while installing I get the "feature transfer error" message while it's about the 1/4th of the way finished.

This pc is fairly new and runs windows 7, so I don't know why there would be any diagnostic problems.

The message I get is as follows:

"FEATURE: DEFAULT FEATURE
COMPONENT: CIV4COMPONENT
FILE: D:/DATE2.CAB
ERROR: DATA ERROR (CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK)​

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

This is most likely due to a damaged/dirty disc.
Try gently cleaning the disc.
Try copying the contents of the disc to your hard drive and run setup from there.

If none of this helps you'll probably have to get a new copy.
