Federation 2 is a modern remake of the classic 1980s MUD (multi-user dungeon), Federation, which was originally on early online services, such as GEnie and AOL. It's completely free to download and play, and it only takes up a few MB. It may not be the most action-packed sci-fi MMO out there, or the most graphically superior (since it's text based), but it's certainly fun and it's got a fairly large and friendly community of players, who are always willing to help out new players. If you're looking for a fun game to play on a low-end system, or simply looking for a game with nostalgia value, then I recommend Federation 2.
