[Feedback needed] AND2 Checker: Easy installation and update v0.3

While I'm here, probably the wrong place for it but can't find where I saw it before so... someone had an issue when the installation of the mod appeared to go ok but afterwards the mod folder was nowhere to be found. Had the same myself a couple of times before realising it was due to Comodo silently sandboxing the installer (it'll turn the installer window border green when it does this). Solution: cancel, relaunch, keep an eye on it this time and click the allow-unlimited on the Comodo pop-up. If you go make coffee, Comodo's default settings seem to cause the pop-up to time-out with a "no".

By the way, the antivirus could mess up with rsync. I only use Windows Defender, that might explains why I don't have any error. Could you retry the update with AV temporary disabled ? Menu -> Fix -> Check files again.

Tried with AV disabled, still getting multiple iterations of the launcher post-update, and a different error: ArtInfo: 'CITY_BILLBOARDS' was not found, followed by ArtInfo: 'ERROR' was not found & CtD.

Unless I'm mistaken, with AV enabled the launcher did not update itself; with AV disabled, it did (to 1.16). Edit: and it no longer shows "update available"; it always showed it before.

A-ha, yes, the old .thm was 0 bytes, presumably the other file too... I'm guessing it'd be hard to know how much of a delay to introduce... maybe having the updater check for 0-byte files would work?

Edit: I'm in, everything is as it should be, and you guys are awesome.

It can be a fix to effectively check these files after an update and to redownload if they were corrupted.

Could its tendency to launch 4 or 5 iterations of the launcher after an update be related?
I would like to thank you to remember me this! When I wake up this morning, I had thought of a solution! I think the launcher is restarted at the wrong time by the updater, and because of multiple rsync process, they sometimes give the signal to restart multiple times. Then multiple processes of the launcher corrupt the files to check, which would explain the problem.
If that is the problem, the fix is quite simple!

launcher popup box needs to be scalable to screen resolution because the options page is not completely viewable on my computer screen. thank you.

Ok. Could you take a screenshot so I can better visualize the problem ?

Thank you.

I finally made the switch from SVN to the Checker, but I've not been able to get the updater to work. I've tried to update several times, but the updater just sits at 0% for hours. I've even tried updating with my firewall and anti-virus off, just to double check that they weren't blocking it, but that didn't work either. Does anyone have any idea what my problem might be?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I used a fresh install when I switched to decrease the chance of something weird happening, so your fix shouldn't have helped, but I tried it anyway and it didn't. I've tried again from a fresh install with the same results. The updater just sits at zero untill it times out.

Is there a "rsync.exe" at the root of the mod folder ? (it shouldn't) Could you try by disabling your antivirus or firewall ?

EDIT: The updater could be long to start as it displays 0% when it is loading the first file. For example, I updated the launcher in rev925, so the first file is large and can take a minute to be loaded (15mb).

*wrong thread*

I have tried disabling my firewall and antivirus already and it didn't work, and the updater sits at 0% untill it times out.

There is an rsync.exe in the checker folder though.

Could you try to remove upd_proc.exe, rsync.exe and all the dll and retry to update?
