if you are IND with stone, its supremely worth it to build it until one turn remains, then let the AI build it. The fail-gold you net would be the same as building wealth for 4 times as long at a point in the game where gold can sometimes be difficult to come by. Cash it in to fund 100% science, hard REX, or pay for a horde to throw at your neighbors.
