Hi folks,

this Mod has its Fans also in Germany. Me and my colleagues are from the biggest German Civ-Community. Since I am one of the guys which only does the translation, some questions occurred to me after reading the Italian-translation thread.

Problem is: We are working on the 0.15b Version and we have completed translating about 30% of the whole CIV4GameText_FFH2.xml.

Question from my fella who implements my translations into the xml file is of course: are there any striking changes in this file so that our work would not completely have been for the...you know what. ;)

Greetings, Jens

Yes, I think its fair to say that there are considerable changes. I would recommend waiting for 0.16 (due out next friday 10/13) so you can work out of that version instead. 0.16 is the last version of "Light" so it will be the last version out for a while. If you get your changes in that verison of the editor and send it to me I'll get them into the source files so that when the first version of the "Fire" phase comes out it will have your translations in it.

I heard of your attepmpt to translate FfHII when i visited the german civ forum once, and well, i wish you good luck and patience....

Spoiler :
keeping the flair will be hard and i personally would suggest everyone learning english instead of setting language to german (even when there is a translation)...
But thats my opinion and i think its not shared by many, so again good luck and have fun translating those very well written texts (and this is not meant ironically ;) )

So,there are only changes to the file structure itself, but the implemented texts are the same? Which means we can continue translating (which we do in Word-Files an then put it into the xml-file) but those texts have to be put into the new xml file again?

With texts I mean Diplomacy, History etc..

No, the file structure is the same. The challenge will be that a lot of the english strings have been added/removed/modified. It doesn't do much good to apply a german translation for the the berserker strategy that was written for 0.15b if we changed the function (and the text) of the english version for 0.16.

But that should be workable if the person adding the text to the editor can read both english and german to make sure they are similiar before adding it.
