Yes, the science and physics of the real world are frequently ignored in Erebus. For example, plants do not need sun light to live. Erebus is just an extension of the gods' will.

Now that I think about it, it is kind of strange that plants need water but not sun light. Why does that bother me when I am okay with a flat earth?

Light travels slower than the speed of light, so the sun can be in the sky over Erbeus, but not illuminate it. Also, when the lore conntradicts the Laws of Physics, simple disregard the Laws enought, and they'll quitley re-write them selves so they don't apply to you.
