OK, I was going to try one of the modmods but there's quite a few of them. Like, for example; Fall Further, Orbis, Rise from Erebus and Wild Mana.
Which makes it pretty difficult to choose...

Could anyone please tell me what the difference is between these (or others that you feel are worth mentioning)? Just the major things, I'm not asking for all details.

Also, would appreciate recommendations which one is the most stable (fewest CTD's).

Thanks! :)

WM is the most stable and closest to vanilla FFH2, it focuses on good AI, fast turns and less micromanagement.

RifE has a lot of awesome content, lots of shiny fun toys to play with and lots of flavour and unique mechanics for all the civilizations.

Orbis also has tons of awesome content and is very refined and polished. it also changes FFH2 mechanics more significantly than the other 2, changing the techtree and the economy.

all in all you should try them all, one of them is going to be closer to your personal taste depending on what you're looking for ;)

I think you should play a couple of FFH2 base game first, it's very fast and stable now, and you can get acquainted with the basic gameplay mechanic changes from base CIV4, including civilization, spells and so on. So you won't get overwhelmed by the HUGE amount of contents those three modmod adds. Ofc, if you like to get overwhelmed, thats a different thing :)

I'm currently playing with WM though, but I always alternating between WM, Rife, and orbis. It just that, when I want to play with less micromanaging, I played WM. But I LOVE those Rife contents!! Ouu, what a choice!!

Edit: and Orbis graphical masterpiece!! Look at those cities and towns!!

I've been playing FFH2 for about a year now, so I know the base game pretty well. I was just looking for a new challenge.

Thanks for the suggestions! :)
