FfH2 won't run

Hi folks,

I'm pretty new to Civ 4(and BtS) so maybe I've just been doing something wrong, but whenever I try to run Fall from Heaven 2(which I am really looking forward to playing, it sounds fantastic) I get "Sid Meier's Civilization 4: Beyond The Sword has stopped working."

I have all the Civ 4 games from Steam, I checked and I have version 3.19, I read and used Emptiness' Installation Guide, I used the Load Mod button from the advanced menu, I've tried installing FfH2 to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization iv beyond the sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods" and to "C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\beyond the sword\MODS", and I've deactivated Vista's UAC and retried the above. I really am at a loss as to what to do next, so any help(and hope) would be appreciated.

I think this is the correct location. The mods that come with BtS will also be located in that folder. The other location you tried definitely is not correct.

To confirm that the mod is installed correctly, launch BtS and at the main menu choose "ADVANCED", then "LOAD A MOD". You should be offered the list of BtS mods to choose from. If FfH2 is not in the list then it is not installed in the correct location.

If it is listed but cannot load successfully then it is not installed correctly. Make sure that you installed the full mod (FallfromHeaven2041d.exe) and not just the patch (FfH2041d.exe) or media pack (FfH2media.exe).

If it is listed, and loads successfully, but you cannot load the mod from the shortcut then the shortcut's path is probably incorrect. You should be able to use the shortcut if you modify the target path to the correct location.

I can see Fall from Heaven 2 023 in the load a mod menu, but when I load it Civ 4 crashes. I've only downloaded fall from heaven 2023c from here.

Where can I download the full version as FallfromHeaven2041d.exe?

Fall from Heaven 2.023 is for vanilla Civ 4, not BtS, so you need to use your vanilla Civ4 disk for that.

You can download the latest BtS version from either the main FfH2 thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398) or from the FfH2 Bug Thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=308020).

Remember to download the main mod first, then patch d.

"FallfromHeaven2041d.exe" is the main mod + patch d, so there's no need to download and install patch d separately.

I was going on the fact that there are separate links for the main mod and the patch, but after clicking on the link for the main mod I see that it seems to include the patch.
