There can be only 1 answer:
Final Fantasy 6 (released as Final Fantasy 3 in the US) is the best of all times, followed by FF5, then FF4 and finally FF9!

The Opera, The flying Casino, Setzer, Kefka, 6 Equipment slots and much more made it the best ever!

YEAH!!!! FF3/FF6 is the BEST EVER!!! :D :D :D :D

It ranks number 6 on my list of all time greatest console games!

He turned up once, but I had just stabbed myself by a couple of points too much and died straightaway. Any help with this would be most appreciated. :)
Actually I’ve heard that an easy way to beat him is just to use x-zone on him when he is vanished and if you catch the two zone-eaters I think (ya know his two stupid lackeys) he will die. But that’s the pussy way,
so he possesses one person in your party so you only have to kill THAT ONE member of your party that is possessed by him. But since there is not a way to know witch party member he possessed its a trial by error sort of thing ;)
So kill one person at a time.
and if he don't show up then revive that person and kill someone else. hope that helps, personally I really don't like to fight that wrexsoul as it is one of the most annoying fights in the game.

Just some extra Info: it’s the moogle charm, and don't confuse mortal blow with fatal blow, mortal blow is just like a stronger than normal hit that you can occasionally get without the weapon help.

Cheers Kefka!
I tried to use X-zone on him, but it didn't work so I just knocked out one of my characters, got lucky and then just hit him repeatedly until he er, died! Another one down! I also wandered round for ages collecting enough coral and then beat the heck out of Hidon witha couple of bum rushes. :) Next one I'm going for is Odin. Wish me luck! Then the other four dragons I haven't killed yet.

Hey duke i give you 1 tip:Be prepared for Kefka. he is one of the toughest Final Fantasy bosses in the whole series!

Yes, FF6 is by far the greatest of them all, the relationshis between the characters is excellent. (Strago being Shadows father, who is in turn Relm's father). The raw emotion that Cyan deals with through the entire game makes him my all-time favourite video game character. I was so sad when his son died, I couldn't wait to kill Kefka, and the final scene of Cyans redemption (after you kill the dream-boss and his families spirits are released) is excellent. The added plus of the "white Esper" Alexandr is nice too.

Kefka isn't the hard part, the 3 statues are tougher then him, carry 4 megaelixers on you, plus the x-magic relic, and he is toast. The second phase of the final boss (the 7 demons) I found to be the hardest of the final battles, choose your group order carefully and it wont be that bad. I usually save Cyan and Terra for slots 6 and 7 respectively so they aren't killed by the irritating first phase of the boss. The musical score is good as well when fighting the end boss, the deep voices of the singers creates a nice mood. The ending was slightly disappointing with the *SHOCKING* end of one of the characters (one of my favourites too).

Interceptor is the greatest dog in all of the FF series, that husky from FF8 has nothing on the Doberman of DOOM!

You did get the Grand train lore from him right ;)

Of course! ;)

I am currently wandering around the dinosaur forest just massacring everything I see so that all my characters will be at level 99 before I enter Kefka's tower. I'm really annoyed with Umaro and Gogo because you can't give them espers so that they can improve their stats quicker. So I just give them the Exp. Egg each time and then go kill things! I knew that you were supposed to steal the Economiser (a brilliant relic!) from the Bracosaur but I managed to find one when I killed it. Gem Box and Economiser are even better than Cyan with Genji Glove and Offering! Eight attacks in a row is even better than his swordtechs so I never use them any more. I eventually worked out that you can learn Ultima by equipping the Paladin shield to characters so they are all working their way through one by one. Sabin, Cyan and Locke have only 2 spells left to learn - Meteor and Merton! :D Unfortunately I didn't manage to save Shadow off the floating continent and couldn't be bothered to go through from the last save again so I just jumped when the clock got to 1 second. A bit annoying, but never mind.
And DaEezT - why is the floating casino so good? I'm sure you can't play the tables. :crazyeye: And Setzer is rubbish! He may be cool in the nonsense plot bit where they get Gau ready to see his dad and Setzer suggest dressing him in cool clothes like his, but apart from that he's not a very good character. I prefer to have control of what my characters are about to do and not to just them do what they want like Gau does with rages and Mog does with dances. Setzer's reels are easy to get the rubbish ones but so hard to get anything cool it's not worth the effort. I do, however, like Umaro because his attacks - throwing people at the enemies and flying at them with his chest - are pretty funny and effective too!
Would anyone like to recommend which groups I take into Kefka's tower? It says 3 groups and I've got Terra, Cyan, Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Celes, Umaro, Gau, Mog, Setzer, Gogo, Relm and Strago to choose 3 groups from, bearing in mind that two groups ahev to fight dragons. What do you think would be best?

Setzer kicks ass!
cause he can hit 9999 sometimes with that fixed dice, and the more he uses the dice and fixed dice the better he gets at it, in my games I use Setzer so much (of course he is renamed Kenny.) that he always hits level 99 quickest.
Setlzer's "reels" are not the best part about him, its those uniqe cool weapons that only he can equip. (disregarding the merit award) If you want a truly amazing eight hit combo try Fixed Dice with the Trump. Trump will automaticly kill some people and the fixed dice can hit anywere from 1500 something to 9999. (depends on how much you have used the fixed dice) or the Dice and Fixed dice (if your in an area with the Undead.)
and hey what do you actually have against the Floting casino? wouldn't you like a floting Casino? also Setzer slots become much more efective early in the game when you don't use any esper's at all, that little bunny becomes Invaluble if you have no one else that can heal you. just like everything else Setzer's reels get better with use.

Please! The fyling casino has style, unlike those lame airships you get in all the other games and Setzer too! Fixed dice as weapon has far more style than just getting bigger blade after bigger blade ;)

ANyway, FF6 rocks! :goodjob:

Oh Im sorry his remark was to you but when some person says my favorite playable charictor is rubbish then I have to retort ;)
yea his style I completly forgot to mention that.

personally I always leave Sabin and Edgar behind, Sabin because my hands tend to get blisters on them when performing Bumrush and Airblade on enemy after enemy, and Edgar for two reasons 1) I kinda stop using him after the world blows up for the first time and 2) I figure there is no one better to keep his finger blistering blitzin brother company.

You should take a break after every hour of gameplay and get fresh air and er, the other things they tell you in game manuals!;) Blisters on your thumbs though! You must play for hours on end to get that. I agree that Edgar is useless as I've had all his tools for most of the game and they just don't do anything for me. Maybe when I get my hands on the air anchor things'll get a little better but it might just keep missing like the chainsaw does. Even with the snipersight relic, he just misses half the time so I always use drill and that's not that effective. I love Sabin though so he's built up with all the spells and his bumrush guarantees 9999 off the bracosaur even with its tough armour so he's always with the gang. I can never be bothered waiting for Cyan to reach level 7 swordtech now though - does it speed up the meter when you get better vigour? It's too slow at the moment. :(
I wish I still had Shadow with me though. I reckon that the hardness must go with the second generation for Strago's family because I don't like Strago or Relm but Shadow rocks! I spent ages training him in magic with the espers before the world was destroyed and it seems a shame that I'll never get him back. And the dog is good - I have to agree. Are there any secret espers because after Odin changed into Raiden, I reckon that I've only got the last one to get after killing all the dragons but there are three spaces left on the list. Should it be filled with espers or are there blank spaces for those characters you don't want to equip with espers?
Thanks for your help to both of you - I'll have to practice with Setzer and different combinations of weapons but that's handy because he's next in my list for upgrading by dinosaur slaughter. :) DaEezT, which characters would you recommend in which groups for Kefka's Tower as there is no chance I'm leaving Sabin behind so I'll think about leaving Edgar but would like to know what you think too! :goodjob:

omg, I played that game the last time.. dunno, some 7 years ago...
I remember I had Sabin equiped with offering and genji gloves and he kicked ass that way :goodjob:
the 12 ppl I used where: Sabin, Edgar, Cyan, Shadow, Mog, Setzer, "that-mimic-guy" and the 2 girls and dunno
arg, my memory isn't what it used to be :o

FFIV is better than FFVI. The characters have more involvement, and the music is better. The bosses are cooler too. FFVI is very, very overrated. I like Tales of Phantasia more.

Yeah, that's as maybe, but I'm playing FFVI at the mo and these kind chaps were helping me.
Is there anywhere better to go than the dinosaur forest to get your levels up? I've got 9 characters up to level 99 and am only going to bother with 3 more (currently in party are Edgar, Mog and old man, er, Strago!) before heading to hand Kefka his ass.
Sorry about the esper question no-one bothered to answer but I remembered that I got Ragnarok as a sword instead of an esper (dumbest move of the game so far, even worse than killing two people when I was wondering what Merton was like). I'm tempted to go and look at the battle arena thing in the north west before going to see Kefka but maybe I'll just play with the save before I leave and do it once I've finished the game. Is it worth it to visit there? I've got something like 15 economisers so I've definitely got something worthwhile to bet with. :D

Well I finished it last night so I can devote even more time to playing Civ 2! (Oh great thinks my girlfriend :))
I have to say that I was distinctly underwhelmed by the ending and the fact that a couple of hits with the Offering and the Atma Weapon combination put paid to practically everyone. I lost one character out of my 12 and that was only because I cast Cure 3 on the wrong person. I enjoyed the game overall, but thought that the Colosseum was a waste of time and don't agree with everyone else about the coolness of Setzer. I might swap it for FFVII with my mate for a new challenge at some point. :)

Since this has become an FFIII thread, here are a couple questions regarding FFIII:
First, well the heck is Locke in the "World of Ruin," and
Second, any tips for beating that Magimaster guy? I've figured out how to stop his weakness switching, but that Ultima spell seems unstoppable. Or are these questions related? :)

If you mean the guy on top of Kefka's cult tower, then just drain all of his magic. It takes forever, but that's how I killed him.

Life 3 thats all, you must put that on and you live at the end of the battle, OR be over 8500 or so hitpoints.
In that Tower I find its best to bring Umaro (the Yeti) Mog (the moggle) and two good magic people (Terra and Celes)ONE OF THEM MUST HAVE LIFE THREE unless you have near 99 levels ;) anyway Umaro will still fight on the tower, and he is GREAT as most of the Magic people have low or next to nothing phisical defence (cause they rely on magic) and Mog is good to bring if you don't want to fight any off the battle's, just Equip him with a Moogle charm.
of course if you actually want to fight the enemys up the tower, then DONT bring mog and find someone else.

my post was a bit too long but if you get anything out of this post it should be LEARN LIFE THREE AND CAST IT ON YOURSELF AGAINST THE MAGI MASTER.

If you cast Beserk on the Magimaster then he will be unable to use any of his magic. He'll still finish with Ultima so you'll need to cast Life 3 on one character at least before the battle ends but I found that with the paladin shield equipped then Ultima didn't kill whichever character it was. Totalled the rest of the party mind you, but they were easily revived afterwards. Gem Box is a cool relic, but you have to wait until another character takes their turn before you can start to cast your first spell. So even with a surprise attack and your first character equipped, you have to wait for the second to attack before the magic kicks in.
I was a bit irritated that when a character uses the Offering and will just continue to hit the enemy even when it has clearly been dead since the first hit but never mind. :)
