Final Frontier Crashes...

I keep trying to play the Final Frontier mod that came with Beyond the Sword. Whenever the game finishes loading, Civilization stops responding. This is before I get the "welcome" screen of the game, telling me about my chosen empire.

Warlords and Beyond the Sword both work fine, and another of BtS' mods seemed to run fine. I DO have a civilization I made myself installed in BtS' folder, but it functions fine in game and never causes errors when playing regular Civ(+BtS).

I'm using Windows 7 right now, but I find it hard to point fingers at the operating system when the base game and other mods that shipped with it work fine.

Any leads?

is there an error message in the windows event manager when it freezes?

Well, the screen goes black, and I have to click (in the middle area of the screen, where I see Windows' mouse as opposed to Civ's) if I want to see anything. The only error message I can bring up is one that says "Civilization 4 has stopped responding" and has the sort of progress bar. I usually click cancel since that seems to end the process right then and there and stop holding my computer up.
