 My solar systems let me pick what structures to build for awile and then the computer starts to choose for me. I have turned all the automation and help featurs off and it still happens.
Anyone got any idea's???

You can build multiple structures in a star system.
Most improvements can be built on on every planet.
In other words when a star system has 7 planets you can build 7 unis or 7banks, you only have assign the right planet.

Each population point on each planet provides the resources given. So if you got a nice production planet, get a habitation dome on it ASAP to reap the benefits of it some more. Then you build factories and manufacturing plants to kee pthe production rolling.

It's funny how an Astral Gate Piece takes less hammers than a Manufacturing Plant

Remember that building something a second (third,...) in any given system makes it more expensive.
On the second planet, it's twice the original price, three times on the third, and so on. I suppose that's where your Astral Gate > Manufacturing Plant example comes from.

I didn't know that. Thanks

Hey all, I have just jumped into the Final Frontier mod and man, what a change from the "normal" game. But you all know that- My question is, before I spend 20 hours doing the wrong thing, are there any basic strategies for FF? Specifically, in regards to the planets, should I beef one up with all of the buildings fist, then focus on building up another? Are all planets equal in population growth and production, and, if not, can you judge a planet's (and solar system's) eventual success by it's appearance onscreen?

You'll want to upgrade multiple planets in each system in order to gain the cumulative bonuses. The planets are different, and you can tell them apart by looking. Bigger planets hold more population, and the colors signify the type of production.

Don't you like finding out yourself Mattnunavutt?
I find that is the most rewarding part of playing a(ny) new game.

As for DaMonkey: you need to colonize additional planets in a solarsystem first, then you can select them for building buildings. (IIRC)
