I'm in the same boat crazyguy. I used to play Civ 2 Multi back in the day, but haven't played Conquest Multi cause I had dial up. I just got DSL and am itching to play.
Unfortunatly, the problems I had with Civ 2 in regards to quiters are still the same. Damn,, I spent over 3 hours popping in in out of games that ended due to either people abruptly quitting,, or someone who wanted to play, but lagged so bad everyone else quit. The other thing is game settings. Everyone hosting selects simultaniouse turns so when someon did lag,, the only thing that didn't lag was the freakin timer. Other settings that where usually preferred by the host were Pangeae maps and double production, so my favorite civs were rendered usless.
I'd like to find some people in the eastern time zone who would like to play an Epic, large map(not 80% water) , Monarch, normal production, "turn based" game to completion. I've been playing civ since civ1 so I'm not a noob. I play on monarch cause I just can't stand how much the AI cheats, and the happiness plummets, and the science lags,et on the higher levels. But I am flexible on any of these settings As long as I play with people who would like to save and continue a game to completion.
