Firefox has deleted my bookmarks?!

I just turned on my PC and opened Firefox. Thing is, under the address bar and navigation buttons where it normally has links to standard Firefox stuff along with some select bookmarks - is blank. My bookmarks folder is also empty. Same with history. My computer wasn't shut down properly - it had been on for hours and is a bit dodgy anyway - shut itself off. This has happened before though...but this time Firefox seems a bit screwed. I came to the forums and it still remember my login and stuff...but any ideas about my bookmarks?

The data was lost when your PC shutdown.

Why has it only happened this time though?

What about things like system restore? Could that help?

Firefox, I found, had a nasty habit of deleting bookmarks, then it stopped working completely, so I iuse IE now.

it happens? NOOOO! AND MY SHIFT KEYS BROKEN!
I MUST BAKC UP MY BOKMARKS
