It's good.
I'm playing as English (2005 A.D.). Dominating the rest of my continents from Germans. I'm the most powerful and most cultured civ. I have trade embargoes against germans as well as all civs have war declaration on them. Everyone is in awe of me. It's good to be the king! -- Few important issues,
a) I have not had a single leader (all the conditions have been ripe)
b) no naval army possibilities make naval combat a bit harder than it has to be
c) Spy espionage is ridiculous and usless
d) Game is jerky for some reason
e) worker's AI sux, my workers refuse to (auto)make the 2nd half of my continent into a railroad.
f) I should be able to upgrade infantry to marines

Overall, the game is a lot of fun, and it has it's moments: I had a longbowman on the high mountain and every time a horseman wanted to pass by, he'd get shot and he would re-treat ... made it a bit fun to watch them all get scared and have one longbowman hold off a small collection of horsemen.
