Maybe this is the wrong forum or the problem may have been addressed before. If so, I'm sorry.

I can't get a Great Plains map. Every time I try via a Custom Game, I end up with jungles, mountains, deserts, oceans, etc. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game - no help. I'm talking about the 1.61 patched game.

I play as Washington at Noble level with 8 AI opponents using huge, ancient, marathon with no barbarians.

It's called Great Plains, but it does have terrain other than plains. It's modeled after the plains in the middle of the U.S.. It has forests in the east, plains and flood plains in the middle and then mountains and hills in the west. There is ocean in the SE corner. After you start up the game go into world builder and see what the map looks like.

The jungle is probably Louisiana / Mississippi Delta region.

If there is a splotch of Red Clay it's probably South Carolina.
