Fix one problem another pops up

I had a problem with my sound looping and a hard freeze. Had to reboot, and doing that it would cause my wireless adapter drivers to unasign and couldnt get back online. Well after working on this problem and solving it i finaly played with no crashes or freezing.

Then i start getting black screens and CTD This upsets me. So i fix that problem and now im getting horid graphics and im getting pist at the crappy games Civilization has let go in the past. CIV3 i had no technical issues just bad releases and partial games costing me a lot. Now CIV4 is nothing but technical issues. Dont get me wrong, im sure its something im missing, but everything is updated with current drivers. Just not sure why im having so many issues. I play games that require a lot more system resources than CIV4 and no problems.

Im lost.

Either get:
Freeze, hard reboot, wireless issues
or
Black screen crash to desk top
or
bad graphics with blue spots everywhere.

Any advice or help would be greatful.

My DxDiag file is attached. 1 is with sound acc on, shows drivers. Other is with sound acc off.

Turning sound acc. off it keeps game from freezing. But then i get black screen and other issues.

Going to go pick up 1gig ddr mem today so should have 1.75gig by tonight.

You have not explicitly said you are at Patch V1.52, if not, v worth while doing so asap. Major Resource & Memory issues (system RAM & Video RAM) in V1 & V1.09 were resolved with the Patch

Im using 1.52 civ patch. From the auto-update in game.

But hard to pinpoint one problem when i get it fixed another pops up

The memory issue might be the problem. Since i only have 756k mem im getting another gig today for 1.75gig mem. Hope that helps. I can have up to 3 gig mem on my mobo.
