I haven't had the "KnightDeath.wav" bug that makes the Middle Ages crash (fortunately), but just in case, I copied the "HorsemanDeath.wav" file, pasted it in the Knight Folder, and renamed it "KnightDeath". Is this a good solution?
Theoretically, that should work. But why not do the simple thing, and rename the "knightdeath.wav" file to "Knight Death.wav"? That's all the problem is: missing a space in the file name.
I just looked in my /art/units/knight folder, and peeked at the ini file - no space between the name in either the ini or the .wav file. I wonder if they fixed that in the 1.22f patch, or someone was running a modified game? (I'm curious, not arguing, and wondering what the problem is! *grin*)
The problem arose in some patch, where the file was referred to internally as "Knight Death.wav", but the file name was actually "kinghtdeath.wav". It's just a matter of making sure that the two line up.
