I just bought the Civilization III Gold Edition and because my eyesight isn't the best I find the game borderline unplayable with the default font size. I've read that its possible to change the font size by editing the civilization3.ini file but I can't locate this file on my computer. Help!

This file won't be created until you start your first game. So dive in and get one started, then exit out. You should then be able to edit civilization3.ini.

I've done that. Started up, built a few cities and quit. No .ini file was created. Weird...

Is the Civ3, Play the World or Conquests? Are there any .ini files in your Civ3 directory?

No .ini files in main Civ3 directory. There is one caled ptw.ini in a sub directory. I tried to edit it but it contained no line referring to font size. I tried adding a line reading MainFontSize=** This was an attempt to follow the approach given at http://www.atarisupport.com/newfaq/...&osType=WINXP&pageDisplay=MAIN#faq_prodissues
This seemed to produce no result...

Edit: I suspect the ptw.ini file is the correct one to be editing because when I change various values in this file, save it and then play the game I'll find those values reversed to their initial settings after I quit. I still need to figure out how to change the font size though...

I'm playing the Civ3 Gold Edition which I believe is Civ3 + Play the World though I'm no expert on this product (bought it on impulse this afternoon just because I enjoyed the previous Civ games so much many years ago).
