BTW, I'm 3rd, 4 points away from the top, 6-1-2, 19 points. But the first has some difficult matches, while I have played them already.

Actually my next game is against AC Milan who are 5th and 4 points away from me. Wish me luck..

you need 4 decent midfielders, 3 decent defenders, and 3 decent strikers, plus the defenders may need good man maring skills and the midfield have reasonable defending skills.

That's not what I meant, but yeah, you posted the numbers the wrong way as well
I think the program works something like: defense/man marking, add man marking skills of defenders + 1/2 man marking skills of midfield. Probably something like that. So (also intuitively correct) for the defense, the skills of the defenders are counting heavier than the skills of the midfielders. Since you have less defenders than the usual 4-4-2 (or 4-3-3) you need better defenders than usual.

Of course, if you'd had good midfielders as well, your team would be better.

Last season I used a lot 3-5-2 but it lead me to a lot of draws, even with Overall: Attacking and with the Midfieldush Forward..

I think attacking/push forward just don't work. It lead to a lot of draws for me as well. In hattrick, "push forward" (it's called differently of course) nullifies chances of both you and your opponent. This leads to less goals overall.
