In the above link is a picture of our current relations with our neighbors.

Rome is cautious towards us, while everyone else is annoyed. I think their annoyance stems from the fact that we have a tech lead over them and have established ourselves as a military power. If things continue along this path then another war will break out without our consent. Right now I propose we hold off any wars with Rome until we get samurai or until we know who is truely hostile towards us and who's just holding up masks.

Hmm.. Rome has a RoP with the Zulu and teh Babs... I don't like the looks of that. Not one bit. If they were to attack us, they would use the north and south as major fronts rather than attack from the west.
Well, just makes us need to head to Samurai faster.

Holding off war until Samurai is fine by me; first, so we have ample time to prepare. Second, using our UU will benefit us, as it is superior to legionnaries (unlike swordsmen), and we would get a Golden Age in the right time. Also, how can they be annoyed by the fact we have a tech lead? I thought we were down techs to everyone...?

It's because we have Monarchy. If they were to attack us moving north or south would take them too long. By the time they could move any sufficient ammount of troops either direction we would have capped some of their cities.
