I was playing a game the other day that came down to the wire. I had to get my spaceship done before the UN vote. It was dead even, so I needed to get my stassis chamber finished a turn sooner. I had some spare cash around and bought a forge. I didn't think it would work but it did. So spaceship parts are considered land units and a forge gives production boost to land units. It was pretty cool because it won me the game but still, should spaceship parts really be considered land units?

Yeah... I was surprised when I found out that the parts were treated as units too. My first spaceship victory was on a pretty large archipelago map. I was very sad when I realized it would take an extra 15-20 turns to move my spaceship parts all back to my capital.

I guess it sort of makes sense since what you produce is essentially a unit (because you can move it around and stuff).

I kind of think of it as building Voltron parts.
