forgot how to install mods

can somebody please enlighten me how to install mods. it's a long time since I have played civ 4 (been playing civ 5) and I don't remember how to install the mods.
please help me

1. Download the mod. It will be compressed most likely as a ".zip" file, possibly as ".rar" or another format.

2. Unpack (unzip) the mod with the target folder being the mods folder in your CIV game folder, not the one in the Documents folder. Alternatively, unpack it to the desktop and then copy it to the mods folder. If there is an instruction file in the package, follow the instructions in that instead.
