forum reoganization for next game

disorganizer: When you're against something, I usually assume it is completely and furiously :) :lol: ;)

Separating was something I've wanted since we had 3 subforums - I'd be in favour (recalling my original 3 subforum proposal...). Not all discussions are leader based. I'd probably never visit the RPG forum so maybe that would be a good thing for me. Remember, it is all a click away. It is not so much more difficult, I don't think. Actually, it might liven the discussions since both subjects will get more focus.

Plus, I can not think of a better use for the forth forum.

It seems that dis has only proposed 4 forums, but we would have 5, the main one and 4 sub-forums!
I really like Shaitan's proposal. There is alot of discussion that happens that would still be in the Citizen's forum and it would make the RPG aspect very distinct. However, I don't know if we should be too strict on what goes in each as the line is blurres at many points.

I think it would be VERY difficult to define 4 totally new concepts for sub-forums, so essentially we have to split one sub-forum (then fiddle a little). It makes sence to split the citizen's sub-forum as it is often the most active and is most prone to having active topics and groups buried before thier time. You know how it is, once you're on the second page, forget it! The citizen sub-forum also has the most threads, as citizens feel most comfortable voicing thier opinions here. This could be continued and facilitated with two seperate forums.

josh: if you would read my proposal you would see that only the poll-forum is missing, which will not be changed at all.

My thoughts precisely, CP.

OK, fine, we'll put that one down to it being 2am here :)
However, I still really like the idea of a separate RPG, though the department/province divide is also appealing. I will retire to bed and think further upon this.

shaitan: we have obviously some more days, so yes, could you please go forward to an info-poll:
* rpg
* domestic
* other please state below
* abstain
(maybe someone has a even better idea)
maybe 3 days runtime

(im pro the poll because we know that many more people express their opinion in polls than in discussions, especially when it goes about rules or organization)

I kinda like the new SDI forum colors...

Maybe the 4th subforum could house that other game if it takes off. "Theocracy" or something?

I think theocracy's getting (or trying to get) its very own forum

I guess that means my Game of Republic idea will be too... (Hey, can you still sticky it? ;)). The main forum should have all of the indexes. I'll gladly update them. :)

we could offer the 4th subforum for one of those (maybe a thecracy game of republic?) as we will propably never get the rpg-subforum proposal thru the quorum ;-p

Well, the quorum also applies to informational polls as says our COS :-P
So the result will not have and informational character?!?

Strange rules we have, master!

Another idea (i repost in here because otherwise some persons will again get after me for putting posts in various threads to "hide" them on purpose):

what about having the subforum for rulechanges?
like all rulebased discussion and polls go in there
also judicacy and legislative threads go in there
we could make a rule that every rule poll must have a decidated discussion titled like the poll in there for at least 24 hours before the poll is started with the detailed option list inside.
this way noone could deny that there was a discussion for a rulechange and that he missed it...

but i forgot... people also think polls are hidden on purpose even if they are in the registry *sigh*

I'd like to move on this and get the COS updated. We will very shortly be activating the Game 2 forums and it will be much easier for us to set these up before we go live. I ask for a Council Member to sponsor this for a Code of Standards update:
