Founder/follower beliefs

As someone who won't be getting the game for a few more days, I wonder if someone can clarify the distinction between founder and follower beliefs. If I found a religion do I only get the founder belief? Is the follower belief just for the cities of other civs that adopt my religion or do my cities get it too? If it only goes to other civs, presumably it's in my interests to try to make the follower belief as weak as possible. Bit confused about this.

no. only the founder gets the founder belief and the follower belief is for everyone.

This is largely explained here.

Basically, a founder belief is a bonus you get as the founder of a religion, whereas a follower belief is a bonus a city gets for following the religion (so foreign cities that have the religion will get the follower belief). To use the following image as an example:

You can see Ceremonial Burial gives a bonus per city that follows the religion, so you get a bonus as the founder for spreading the religion. Pagodas, on the other hand, allows you to purchase Pagodas in a city (and if this religion was spread to a foreign city, that city would be able to purchase Pagodas too).

Okay, so as the founder of a religion I can benefit from the founder belief AND follower belief. Other civs can only benefit from the follower belief. If I'm still wrong about this, someone please just shoot me and put me out of my misery.
