Hiya

ive been thinking of buying freespace 2.

Trouble is my game machine is slow , a p350 with 96mb ram and a 4mb ati card.

Will it run on this?? say at medium detail 800 x 640

Also would you advise gettinf freespace 1 first? ive heard it has a weak story which is important to me (big WC fan)

I see that white label sells a bundle of both games for CHF 25.-- (approx £10 I think), so I say it's definately worth the money. I only played FS1 and I agree that the story is somewhat weak, the game is great though. The only problem with FS2 I see would be you graphic card a 4mb ati would probably not suffice to get proper perfomance, the rest should be ok. the offical min. requirements are:
Pentium 200Mhz
32 MB RAM
3-D Accelerator Card

Conflict Freespace is awesome provided you have a good joystick
and the only bottleneck would be your 4MB ATI....

I say buy it. It's a great game, and eventually you'll have a machine powerful enought to run it.

About freespace 1, well, there are fan mods to the game that allow you to play freespace1 in freespace 2. It's called "freespace port". search for the "freespace watch" website. You have to own the first version in order to enable the voice acting in the port, but at least you can experience the story.

I downloaded a bit of freespace 2 to test on my machine, it ran fine at 800 x 640

So i forked out 40 dollars for a package of freespace 1 and 2

hope its worth it, ive never paid so much for a game ;p
