I Currently have WMP and I have had this annyoing problem for a while. The problem is that Windows Media Player constanly freezes once it is running. It can play media files with no problem but it's interface (Play controls, volume, and even minimizing) freezes up and becomes unresponsive.

Is there any fix to this?

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling it? Can you try to update it?

Better yet, use WinAmp. The only thing I use WMP for anymore is to burn CDs. I'm too cheap to pay the $20 for WinAmp pro.

Which version of WMP? If you're still on 9, try updating to 10.

Do you have anything (background programs, possibly virii/spyware) that's hogging the CPU or memory?
