OK... I just finished my Regent game for the top spot on Standard map size.
I played Mayans of course, since I need that high pop growth so I can expand at a maximum rate. I previously played as the Incas and scored the cute sum of 9999. The recordholder, DaBoss, has 10600 or something. or was it 10800 ? whatever it is, it is GOD DAMN HARD TO BEAT.This time I finished on 9611. EVEN WORSE than my first try with the INCAS!!

I seriously need someone to tell me which is best. Do I settle inland or do I go for coastal cities ? I swear, coastal tiles count towards the max territory limit. I had this city that I watched closely. If it expanded one more time by culture, it would only grasp some more sea and coast tiles. And when it did, the game said I won. SO.. conclusion, THEY COUNT.

I really am getting fed up of trying to beat this record, to NO AVAIL.
I maxed my territory by 880 AD, I cant imagine how I could do it faster. What is really important to get such a high score ??

HEEEEELP !!
DaBoss.. you are either a GOD, or u managed to find a hidden trail on your way to that high score. How did YOU do it. (I think I asked him with a PM once, but I got no answer)

And to end this post, I would just like to say $%)(&*@#$)@(^&(*&%^

sea tiles don't count towards the domination limit, but coastal tiles do.

Have you used MapStat to determine the domination limit of the map you're trying to beat? Are you using MapFinder to generate a map with a higher domination limit?

For a standard map size, I'm honestly not sure. I suppose you could put in a minimum value of just '1' and let it generate a hundred maps or so. The report would give you an idea of what kind of variance there is on the settings your using.
