okay, I like to do several things at the same time on a computer, so full screen games really bug me..

Does anybody know how to get them into a window?

I know, that's what I do, but it's annoying :P

Its game specific but some if you go into the .ini folder you can find a line that aplies to full screen or window. Give it the value that puts it into windo and away you go.

Well, you can temporarily minimize them by opening a new window and switching to that new one. You can open a new window (in Windows) by pressing control-esc, and that gives you the Start menu.

Wouldn't it be easier to hit the Windows button?

Some older keyboards don't have that button :)

The easiest way is opening an application before starting the game, and then use Alt-Tab to switch between them.

I am aware of that. Most games I play are full screen. I was talking about the windows button on the laptop. Right between the Ctrl and Alt buttons.

Few Games that run on Full Screen Mode dont take too kindly being Alt-tab or window keyed out and then back in.

Civ3 and GalCiv2 do (ok, GC2 takes some time to Alt-Tab it back in). I'm not sure about Civ4 as I only played for a short time.

You can always try adding a -w or -window switch to the target location in the shortcut. Right click the shortcut for the game, and in the target, at the end of the text, type in -w or -window ( make sure there's a space between the switch and the last ")

Thanks, I'll try it

LOL, I sold my old one

I have a Windows button on mine, thats what I use

LOL, half my games change the screen size
