I'm playing the modmod of FFH2 fall further. Armageddon counter is at 65(playin as dural) and three of the four horsemen spawned right outside my empire. It's in complete and total chaos(why i made an expedition to this decent sized island as a fallback point). I have a bad habit of not finishing most civ games(modern era is boring to me) but FFH has an amazing endgame. Now if i could get one of the ashen veil people to summon hyborem right beside me itd be complete.

Pretty much a thank you to FFH2(and fallfurther people too) for the awesome mod. Back to fighting armageddon(and the fourth horsemen at one point then the avatar of wrath woo)

I share your enthusiasm.

There are a lot of "Thank you for FFH!" threads out there. But, there's no harm in another one. :)

FFH2 made me install Civ IV again. FFH2 - BTS version made me buy BTS. Otherwise, I would have never bought it. If there isn't an FFH3 in Civ V, I doubt I'll buy it. Civ without FFH is only half a game. That's the new standard that has been set by this great mod.

The most wonderful thing about this game is that Kael and Crew stuck with the premise of providing a game that is never the same way twice, does not lend itself to a "cookie-cutter" insta-win strategy and civilizations have remarkably different playstyles. I was hooked from the first few turns and eagerly await the stand alone version!

I've had enumerable "favorite moments" in the game and have willingly suffered a few glitches and forced reloads/edits in order to keep well loved games going on. It's a pretty big deal in today's world of "instant gratification without effort" that fans will do anything to keep their current game of FFH2 alive and well.

this is so completely and absolutely true and perfectly well described!

first things you'll see:
the story: from the intro to the first turn, to the last: immersive
the graphics: nice dark colours, it looks like a real place
the research: back to ToT... wonderful!
then you research something and can build spell wielding heroes and you just think: wow!
then some barbarian kick your ass and you understand that the difficulty level you played Vanilla is a tad bit too high for FFH.
You kill dragons... you learn to make use of water walking... you find out about the strength of Pyre Zombies... and how to counter them... you don't build a settler before you have a granary... and some axeman... you learn to hate Hippus... and how to stop them with Ashen Veil...
..then four years later you still play this game... :)

Gelvan I have to take a second to applaud your peerless ability to pinpoint what just took me ten minutes to ramble around.

I think you forgot that hero you make that basically dominates another civ all but single-handedly.
