funny internet happenings: My browser doesn't work anymore

For some reason I can't do 2 things on the net anymore.

firstly, can't open a second similtaneous page while on the net, secondly it wont let me go back to previos pages (recent pages- top left hand corner).

Have I accidently downloaded something? or disengaged something. Pls help.

When I try to pop up a second window it looks as though its trying but no image/site comes up. When I click on the recent pages thing nothing happens
Scuse my computer illiteracy but browser? how to tell? computer only 1 month old but hings started happening about a week ago.
I've got windows 7.
have Kaspersky

...er...the browser is the programm you use for the internet.
On Win7 it's probably Internet Explorer 8 or 9.

can you make a screenshot about that...that nothing happening when you try to open a new window? Want to see it.

Preemptive: To make a screenshot of the current screen, just hit the print key on the keyboard (somewhere in the right upper edge, to the right of F12), then go to a image program (paint or so), and paste it in there. Save + upload it here please.
