Funny NQ win

First of all... I am not NQ "perfect" so if somebody has to leave or doesn't follow NQ rules completely I can't complain, and I don't judge. But I can remark, and this remark is on a remarkable game.

Towards the end of an NQ game... 3 of us left. The guy who was way behind asked if he could leave because he said he wasn't relevant. I said "you guys agree on if he can leave" and the 2 of them agreed he could leave, so he left with his capital intact. I have huge tech lead and start putting space parts up. Just before last space part goes up my capital gets nuked several times the "Super" player's huge army lands. Next turn, capital and my army gets gets nuked several more times, and army takes capital. But the game goes on, as there is another capital to take which the other player considered irrelevant. The dude calls himself winner and leaves the game. I win a few turns later by finishing space part in another other city and launching.

I don't care if the remaining capital is AI. The game is over when the players in the game agree it is or the victory screen pops up for somebody. I did not resign and the victory screen popped up for ME a few turns after I lost my capital.

The super player not taking the AI capital was a big part of me losing my capital. He took my capital just 2 turns before I finished my last part, if he had any delay (taking another capital) I would have easily launched the first time. So saying that he didn't have to take the AI capital to win is a fail, cuz bypassing the AI capital was the only way to take mine in time! But he still lost, cuz my spacepart went up in my new "capital" without all capitals taken.

Anyhow, to sum up, this is just a fun game, I will play him and NQ again, but I wanted to let him know that he can't declare himself winner especially when there is nobody in the chat room to act as a ref.

Sounds like "super" had enough to kill you out right before you finished your last spaceship part. Maybe he thought you had given up? Did you have time to say "I do not concede! I can still win?" Anyway, I'm sorry that happened, you CAN NOT declare yourself the winner in an NQ game!!

Sounds like it was a fun game over all though, one of my most epic games involved getting nuked by the tech leader, and then making a come back! We were separated by a lot of land, so after I razed the city he launched his nuke from and got my own nukes online we were separated by a fallout drenched nuclear no-mans land. He decided to go for the space race. I went autocracy to double my uranium, launched a bunch of nukes from submarines and landed an army taking out his top production cities as he was working on his last part!

He knew for sure I had not given up, as he was gloating heavily while I kept saying GAME NOT OVER YET over and over in many different forms in the conversation. When I got the victory screen it was even sweeter.

I remember a game like this back to vanilla where Onan and 2 other players discovered like me that you can finish parts in another city if you lose your capital and still keep other parts intact(i was the launcher )

Well gee, now he has new info and time to think up a new plan to try and stop me, now his mind is rested... in a long nonstop game with constant action getting to rest is a big deal, and having to create strategy under stress as action is playing is a big part of the game Plus the whole point is that he quit, he didn't come back, and he only wanted to come back after the fact! He also said several times that he was DONE with the game, he had to get up early, he didn't have time - he suddenly found the time when I told him I won and how I won!

I agree you can't declare yourself winner in a NQ game. I'm just curious why you are trying to defame ones character in a open forum when it is clear by this screenshot that he was willing to reload immediately after he dropped?

I would give him the benefit of the doubt in this case Joe. As you know once most ppl lose their cap in a NQ game they concede. After a 7 hour game it's clear he jumped to that conclusion. Given his track record of gloating unnecessarily I can understand why you wanted to play it out. We all want to make a trash talker eat his words.

not even statistics remember...
thats why statistics are needed if people play so much and good to call games semi-competetive

in-built-statstics most needed feature in next expansion/civ6!
