Unless Hammy is your Vassal, i think it's a bug :confused:My first guess was 30 as well, but a closer look revealed 49 triremes. That might be even enought to take down a Missile Cuiser.

Upon Further review of the save there is a total of 75 Triremes. He did not finally attack my privateer until I went to war (Man did See Enemy Moves take awhile). It fell to the first Caravel! Seriously people says the AI has no idea that Privateers are yours...

Civ4ScreenShot0006.JPG

what would be good was if José was also a ranking... especially because that's your name!

Just Kidding!

I wasn't kidding about José being in the ranking, I was kidding about it being there because it is your name...

You must be wondering why I think José should be in the ranking...

Spoiler :
... because it's my name! :)

Now try and pillage my Iron you barbarians!!

The other thing I liked about Way Traveler's screenie is that Rome is nearby. Suppose that was the only source of iron for Praetorians near Caesar's start?

I'm glad my screenie is amusing y'all. Some backstory:

1) The point of it was indeed the iron. The starting location looked great, but there wasn't accessible copper or iron anywhere nearby.
2) This was generated as part of my attempt to set everything to 'random' to enhance my skill, including unrestricted leaders and random personalities. For once, I got a good Civ (as noted, Rome). Even had a good leader for an early rush (Ragnar).
3) I saw the iron and was w00t! Then I noticed the surrounding area. If I can dig up a savegame, it might not be a bad idea to just settle on the iron and see if I can build prats in a timely fashion. It'll be too late for a rush, but still. :(.

You can always settle in the iron... crappy city....but if there is no other metal around, it would have to do. Now play Ragnar of Rome without Preats is almost a crime
