I found out the problem with the attachments. It is as I suspected from the start. It's the stupid Yahoo toolbar. I called our service desk and they got in and uninstalled all the Yahoo junk. It now functions perfectly and actually runs faster getting images too. I went to another computer we have over here and saw it had an yahoo toolbar too, but he didn't have it active. It turns out that on his computer it doesn't work anything like on mine, and it will actually stay off your screen until you click it back on. Whoever put that rubbish on this machine must had got a corrupt download. Oh, real slick too.
When all that had been removed and I started up a session, yahoo did it's last act of defiance and replaced my home page.

I think it was because I had it on tiny with a lot of civs haha, but I'm not sure because I ended up restarting that game because I accidently had it on marathon instead of epic. =p
