Reading earlier in this thread, I saw several comments about "wow, that's a long river", or "this is the grand-daddy of all rivers". Coincidentally, in my current game, I have a river to shame them all.
On a standard Pangaea map, this river comes in at a cool 53-segments long. It has half of the continent as its domain, it connects 4 different civilizations together, 2 of which have their
capitols right next to it. It is so large, that in order to provide you with a screenshot of the whole thing, I had to zoom out into an orbital view. The only reason it fits on the continent is because it doubles back along itself. It could have easily gone pole-to-pole.
When I first explored the region, I assumed that it was 2 rivers that flowed into the sea after travelling through Japan. I was shocked to learn that not only were they the same river, but it doesn't even reach the sea! It certainly explained how Judaism had spread from Mali to Mongolia and Japan.
Now, without much further delay, I present to you the screenshot. I used the strategy-lines tool to color all the rivers, and paint to whiten the big one. Cropping removed the minimap, but rest assured you are looking at the whole world. 'Cept Egypt.
This probably isn't the longest one in existance, though it is of outrageous proportions. If you think yours is longer , send your picture and prove it! Just how long do you think they can possibly be?
