I attach sentimental value to my Quechuas. Also, the Incans are confusing themselves with Rome, which, until the imperial days, kept its legions away from the city unless it was under direct attack. Or maybe they think they are tootsie rolls, with a soft chewy center and a hard candy shell made up of legions of artillery and riflemen?

i've had the polar ice turn a funky shade of green on me before. last night the ice turned jet black, and so did all troops except whichever one was active. screen full of silhouettes, it was completely bizarre. funky and spooky, made me wonder whether it was easter eve or halloween!

so i'm feeling lousy last few days and decide i just want to mess around, do research, kind of watch how the AI plays rather than play a challenging, stimulating game of Civ4. so i gave myself spies very early on, and watched their progress. including the barbarians.

the barbarians researched some funky things. like when they learned currency, they didn't get a trade route in their city, poor things. i puzzled over why they were bothering with alphabet. don't they know they can't trade, not even pointy stick research? then i found out the reason...

they want to learn how to ride ponies so badly that they want to speed up the process by investing all five of their hammers into it!

the barbarian tech rate jumped all over the place, too. it would be like 43 turns left on one turn, the very next turn it would say 15, stuff like that. no rhyme or reason that i could make out, but i found it quite amusing. it was a perfect game for studying. me and cyrus on one continent, i founded a religion, he didn't, so we were pals. and he built the great wall! so i never had any barbarian troubles, i'd staked out my claim where i wanted his territory to stop and his wall worked for me too . i got to watch the other 5 civs duke it out with each other *giggle*. i even used WB to edit the spies to add mobility and the GG one extra movement promotion, they were the most spyingest spies i've ever seen!

Yesterday I started to play as Augustus on Noble, did do discovering and although it was a pangea I couldn't find the last opponent do i checked with editor, here's what I found very nice start for Kublai Khan

1) notice the mountain blocking him form leaving his peninsula
2) and the neighborough - wow Izzy
3) Kublai made one good move - converted to buddism like Isabela but later he discovered Christianity and made the biggest mistake of his life...
