the main question is, do you still want that horse for cavalry knowing what they do in their spare time

Though more extreme than usual, I think this would still be covered by the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Shoot, it was too short! If we don't get water to fill the bowl and give to the elephant, it will destroy our Monestery.

Look, she won't stop trading with Isabella, but she will declare war on her!

This is my idea of democracy :mischief: . Wait... Hatty is up to 36 votes, I'd better trim her back a little...

I notice that you are researching Future Tech 97 and have a billion cities. Why would Peter abstain when he obviously hates you?

because he's seen what happens to people who vote against The-Hawk !

actually, they'll abstain from voting for a secretary if they're annoyed (or worse) with both candidates. for secretary, they'll vote for whichever one they like more if there's at least one they're above annoyed with. i've had shaka vote for me for secretary while we were at war. we started out friendly and he was only down to cautious by then, i'd only declared on him recently and hadn't razed any cities yet. the rules for voting for diplomatic victory are more strict, but for secretary they're pretty simple.

not to mention he has no door.. and his living room seems to be flooded

What happens if you abstain in the vote ... there is no winner and ???

Or you could play with the AIs head and vote for them! And then vote down each of their resolutions :mwaha:

i'm not a good warmonger. but even i can beat folks up as ragnar on archi maps. this morning i decide to play a game with him but on continents, to see how much is the traits. i'm going to be all-out war, not build wonders. of course this is the start that i get:

and for those SG votes ... i'm such a diplomacy goddess that mansa votes for me even while i'm beating him up!

this is why happens when you leave them out in the middle of nowhere...

What makes it even better is that each of the three guys has a horse. Makes you wonder if it is just a coincidence. :-)

I think Peter and Hatty were on different religions, so I assume they were not pals either. On the other hand, at least Hatty hadn't beaten him to a pulp. :mischief:

By the way, I finished and submitted to HOF (going for highest time victory, huge map, Prince level)... ended with 220'ish future techs. I once had over 500 FT's, but that was Chieftan. Big difference in tech rates, Prince also requires more effort "managing" the AI's so they wouldn't launch. Hence the low AI populations.

I actually considered voting an AI in, then decided I'd probably screw up a resolution vote. With ~75 hours in this game, I decided I'd better not get cute! ;)

I'm pretty sure an abstain would have resulted in no Sec General. A few turns later and the vote comes up again.

"Sire, our attempt to conquer the last german city failed."
- "What?! But... but... we had 15 well trained swords men and all he got was some lousy archers and his puny pyramid cultural defense!"
"Yeah, but to our dismay we encountered... Römmel."
- "Crap."

Capac is sure going to p*** these workers off even more in a little while........

Civ4ScreenShot0018.JPG

Worker 1:"First he wants us to build a farm"
Worker 2:"THEN he wants us to build some cottages over the farmland"
Worker 3:"And now he wants to knock down the cottages and build an Iron Mine.....sheesh"
Wk1: "Well he is King"
Wk2: "What's a King?"
Wk1:"Oh it's all about passing down the line of descendancy through the first born child of the Monarch"
Wk2 & Wk3: [long stare]
Wk1: "I might have dreamed it......erm...right..haven't we got some houses to knock down?"...............
