G-Major 29

CS sling is a lot easier on a Rainforest map. On Inland Sea, Mansa Musa usually completes Oracle around 1700 BC.

Ive seen it completed at 2500 BC :)... As a player you usually CS sling around 1700 BC. Anyhow, vs mansa musa its kinda hard to CS sling, at least on inland sea

Nice job to the winners. Hats off to your accomplishments.

I was happy to actually finish a game and knock out a Major Gauntlet finally.

This Gauntlet is finished. Results:

1st Bram 1230 AD
2nd WastinTime 1330 AD
3rd ssjos 1370 AD

Congratulations Bram on an amazingly early date :trophy: for Normal speed!

Bram, was Pericles' unique building much help in shaving off a turn or two?

Congratulations as well to :trophy2nd: WastinTime and :trophy3rd: ssjos!

jesusin, your play is inspiring; I enjoy reading your game summaries; all the top players graciously share their strategies, but not as often and in as much depth as you. :goodjob:

Congrats also to all my fellow competitors, especially those I tried to help earlier in this thread; I hope I didn't lead you astray too much. :)

I found playing a Deity Cultural game with BTS to be much more fun than Warlords. I especially liked Opponents that tried to Win via means other than Space, namely Religious, especially Cultural and Diplomatic. The best part of this gauntlet (for me) by far was trying to tune a strategy to the limited resources and try to get the earliest win date by using different Map types via synergistic adjustments of the basic strategy. :crazyeye:

I hope we have another Deity Cultural gauntlet real soon now!

First of all, sorry about the sad tone of my last post.
I have enjoyed this Gauntlet immensely. It has been a nice competition, with lots of people submitting. But it has been a friendly competition too, where everybody would share their ideas. Several people have got their first Deity win or their first Major win. Others, me included, have learnt a lot. We have all advanced together towards a better understanding of the cultural game in BTS.
Thanks to the staff and to the participants for this wonderful experience!

Congratulations, Bram!
What do you think is the different/special characteristic of the winning game?

EDIT: by the way, don't miss the last posts of the sub 1000AD thread!

Congratulations Bram :)

I basicaly started constructing my strategy from scratch for culture win playing this gauntlet. Your sub 1000 AD strategy was very valuble for some general ideas Jesusin :)
