GAH! A teensy UI improvement we could REALLY use...

Just now, for the 10,000th time, I got hoodwinked out of 4 critical happy's (dropping me down to 0 just as my two new baby towns were growing like weeds) during the AI transition turn, when William offered to re-up his previous purchase of one of my luxes. What I of course forgot, was that several turns back, he hadn't had the gold to re-up, so I had to sell that lux to Ramses instead. So my absentmindedness yet again bit me in the butt when I let William buy my last Ivory.

How hard would it be to add an available-resource list to the AI-turn trade request events? I'm thinking not very. You're literally playing blind whenever one of those screens comes up. Sure would save a lot of game reloading :-(

This used to annoy me too.

One thing I used to do was wait till they opened the trade screen, then remove the lux from my side, then look down the list of luxes I could trade and see what was available; however, this was bugged, as quite often it would show more than 1 even if I only had 1 available. I'm not sure if this is the same or if it got fixed.

Now I make do with never renewing trades when the AI requests, and always do it on my own turn once I get the message that the trade has expired. It's the only way to be sure.

I have a row of artillery ready to fire on the city.
I select and then fire the first artillery, and just before I can click the next artillery piece the game abruptly jerks the screen to the other side of the map directing me to move a worker.
Immersion breaking and aggravating.

Or the "will you go to war with me?" or "will you denounce for me?" It's like, well geez can't I just check out what the political landscape looks like before I commit myself? I've been so click-happy building this wonder or fighting these barbs that I haven't looked since the renaissance...

Use the Global Relations mod. ;)

You can turn that off in options, i think it's called auto unit cycle.

What annoys me is game centering the camera on selected unit at the start of each turn. Another thing is that when you click on the new GP born or new unit from CS message on the right it wont select the unit, it just centers the camera on it so i often move the wrong unit.

This times a thousand! I do that all the time and then move some worker or unit when I intended to move the great person.

This, along with just making the unique units and building icons be clearly marked on the tech tree, would be a major improvements. Last time I mentioned the unique buildings and units thing I was told to "use the civilopedia" but it's kind of silly to me that the icons weren't just given a star or special border or something to catch your attention.

For this reason, I never re-up the lux-for-gold trades. I just say no, then go into the trade screen and re-do it. A lot of times I decide to give it to someone else anyway.

Also the delay on the a unit needs orders at the end of the turn.
Me: now when i've just finished moving all these units, i'll go in and make a really critical decision that my whole game depends upon.
CivV UI: too late sucka, you hit end turn. Muwhaaaaa.

This bug still exists. If I cant remember whether I still really have at least 2 copies of the lux and I still need the happiness I wont renew the deal till my turn either.
