gun powder man
Chieftain
Have you ever wanted to yell "Listen or I will get out my whip!" at your friends due to they will not listen or do what you want to do?
Have you ever want to get your children to do arts and crafts to improve your "culture" rating?
Do you have costant thoughts about being the ruler of a Empire or country, dressed up in your choice of rulers costume (from toga to fatigues)?
After playing Civilization games (and just about any other game for that matter), the way you act and think can be effected. Like what you think and act in the game can go into everyday life. Are any of you experiencing these kinds of ev?
There is a name: Gamdiclivotitis
Many people who play computer/video games have it. Ultimate symptoms:
-Constantly thinking about a game outside gaming zone.
-Your theories about life start to be changed by the game
-You try to talk about game theories to NORMAL people who haven't played the game.
WORST SYMPTOM: Buy a fancy ruler's costume, gather your 3 friends, get fake plastic guns, go to city hall, and try to take over city. Then the cops come...30 seconds later you are all in the back of a cop car, or the people who film COPS are on the scene filming the unfolding events...(will not go into detail on that one).
Cure: Either get a real job, or if that doesn't work, spend more time with your family, and/or find another addiction.

Funny eh? Someone probably posted something like this, but right now, it is at it's on the rise, until it will peak on the day CivIV comes out. Then it will drop to almost nothing, then will continue to climb again after New Years.
The point, don't worry about CivIV coming out. It is good to check for apetizers (news) on the game every so often (maybe once a day or every 2-3 days) but you need to remember, IT IS ONLY A GAME. Just a nice, honest message to help calm the buildup to the game.
