Game crashing fairly frequently in TBC 7.4

I toggled the "enabled" flag on and off but ships of the line can still be built with navigation either way...

Is it "normal" for the AI to "randomly" dog-pile the human? I thought the included What Would Gandhi Do mod fixed that problem... can't play Civ 5 like this.... fending off 10 other civs at the same time. :\

My only transgression really is that I took like two civs for 1000 gold and then declared on them for a bit. Is that why the AI to hates me so much?

I'm not sure toggling during a game works. To be certain, check the Tradition branch. If the middle policy on the first tier is called Ceremonial Rites, then you're playing in the mod. (And I think you are.)

WWGD reduced the possibility of being dogpiled at game start. It doesn't help you if you've wiped out a CS. Even then, though, you're probably getting dogpiled for additionally being too weak or too strong. Unfortunately, I don't think the AI hold gold rip-offs against you... but they hold a grudge for DoWing more often than not.

So I declare war against 3 civs in the entire game, and everyone else declares war me 25 or so turns later, within 2 turns? (first India, India, & Persia, then the rest...) Doesn't sound right. You still sayin' this is normal?

Edit: just started a new game. I'm seeing a fair amount of little things I didn't see before, I think. It looks like the Civilopedia updated, but the game didn't.

Edit: does starting a game from the mods screen and the "normal" screen make a difference? What about loading from the mods screen/normal screen?:

I think some of the stuff disappeared if I start a game from the normal screen, while from the mods screen I seem to be getting a UI loading error up top...

It's normal under certain circumstances, including the luck of the RNG. It doesn't happen all the time, or you would hear about more examples.

I see...

Ok, a little more on the other situation. If I start from the main menu, I guess the mod doesn't load. If I load what I started from the mod screen, the mod still doesn't load even though the civilopedia is updated. The mod only loads if I start from the mod menu. The problem with that is:

I get the UI didn't load error as in http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=435653 , and I don't know how to fix it. I deleted the cache and ModUserData files multiple times now. It seems to start off fine, but if I start a city, I get the UI didn't load error immediately. If I don't start a city and just move my units, pressing "end turn" does nothing...

I just saw that error for the first time, but late in the game. For all I know it's been popping up and I've missed it. I don't know what it means, if anything.

To review just in case you're missing something, you start from the main menu after every reload, check off the use of mods ("accept"), then click the SP button and then the reload (or game start).

Yup, yup.

Hmm... and you can play fine? (I'm using v 100, btw.)

That error really messes up my UI up top.. can't click anything with that wall of text. There are various problems that come with it too, besides being unable to end the turn without a city. I can't select production in a city sometimes, for instance (as in that thread). Basically kinda unplayable right now...

Vanilla civ is too unbalanced/buggy to play, anyway.. soooooooooooooo I'm gonna hang I guess.

None of that is happening on my screen, so it's a different issue. I'm sure Thal will review this, but if you cleared your cache and MUD and are using v10 with no other mods, I'm at a loss as to how to repair it.

Ok, still no solution. I got a bit ahead of myself and thought deleting the logs would do something. Apparently I again forgot to start from the mods menu.

(BTW: your quote tag-whatchamacallit is broken -- no start quote.)

Before attacking a citystate you can check the diplomacy window (F4 I believe) to see if the citystate is protected by anyone. If you attack a citystate that no one is protecting it gives less of a diplomatic penalty. Gandhi and Darius tend to dislike warmongers in general, so if you do any conquering you'll get on their bad side. For details on leader personalities, check out the Balancing Personalities thread.

Try each thing on the Common Checklist if you're encountering problems with the UI. If those don't work, please start a new thread for your specific topic (this thread was about crash issues that occurred several months ago).
