game dev tools

Humble bundle is running a game dev tool bundle. I have always been somewhat interested in game development but I get burnt out coding at my job all day (I do automotive diagnostic software) and would rather play games at the end of the day so never got around to doing anything. But some of these look rather easy to use. Just wondering if anyone has made games using stencyl, game guru or rpg maker.

I've played to the moon and have cuthulu saves the world and I think both were made on rpg maker. But then I read how it took the guy a year and a half to make to the moon by himself and it seems quite daunting. But the tools are quite cheap even if I don't get much out of them.
